During the New York fashion week and in Oscar’s fashion show runways, there were whole lots of new collections that started with bathing suits with rocking colors and then eased in to tie and dye skirts. Perhaps one of the most fabulous things that happened that day was the reinvention of the Oscar’s favorite print- Ikat that has been hovering about fashion for some moments now.

With its roots based on the histories of South America and central Asia and even afar, Ikat appeals to many especially to the funs of Oscar de la Renta runways. It is simply exotic cloths that produce impressive clothing such as short floral dresses, shiny and even see through. At his fashion show during the New York spring 2009 fashion week, Oscar de la Renta silk garments were lovely particularly the white silk crepe blouses and the silk sweaters. A woman can match these almost with all her dark outfits and look very smart.

Still on blouse collections were the matted blouses and almost all the models on the runways had a belt akin to a perforated leather corset belts. The navy, yellow and white pieces with a sailing style best showed that this esteemed fashion designer- Oscar de la Renta had plans all a long to restore the ikat ingenious fabric on his spring collections. And as it was expected of Oscar’s ability to impress the crowds, his long gowns followed all the initial collections. The variety of architectural shapes and designs on these attires was contemporary. This clearly demonstrated why designers like Oscar are admirable; their limit to climb even higher in the fashion industry ladder is only the blue sky.
